Bear Awareness

Yes, bears may look cute and cuddly but they are wild animals. Most provincial parks operated by Sea to Sky Park Services are situated in natural bear habitats and we encourage our campers and guests to be "bear aware".

Some tips on being bear aware are:

  • Store ALL food and bear attractants (i.e. coolers, bbqs, dirty dishes, scented cosmetics, citronella, garbage) in a hard-sided vehicle/trailer/motor home or if provided, in animal-proof facilities at the campground (i.e. bear cache) when not in use or away from the campsite for a long period of time
  • Do not take food into your tent, not even a snack
  • Do not sleep in the same clothes you cook in
  • Use bear-resistant food containers - coolers and tents are not bear proof
