A popular tourist attraction, the Othello Tunnels of Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park were originally constructed in the early 1900s by the Canadian Pacific Railway thorugh solid granite to provide a passage way to the Kootenay Region from the Lower Mainland. Viewing opportunities of the tunnels are available on the trails, through the tunnes and on the bridges in the park.
Coquihalla Canyon Provincal Park is a great stop for a picnic or a short hike. Swimming is not permitted in the park due to dangers river levels and currents.
Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park is open from April 1 - October 11.
A campfire ban is scheduled in the Coastal Fire Centre from Friday, July 23rd, 2010 from noon until further notice.
