Porteau Cove Provincial Park is situated on the eastern shore of Howe Sound about 35km north of Vancouver.
The park's main attractions are the tidal and inter-tidal marine life of the park's foreshore areas. There is a good diversity of marine species to see, both along the shore and underwater.
A scuba diving area has been developed with sunken ships and artificial reefs that has greatly enhanced sub-tidal marine life.
Fishing is only permitted outside of the provincial park boundary.
The park contains waterfront campsites for tents and RV’s with a view over Howe Sound to the mountains beyond, electrical hookups, walk-in campsites, day use picnic sites, water, restrooms, and special facilities for divers. Ice, firewood, and basic camping supplies are available for purchase from the Gatehouse.
New this season are the Olympic Legacy cabins located near entrance and waterfront of Porteau Cove. For more information on the cabins see Olympic Legacy Cabins.
Porteau Cove Provincial Park is open year round with limited facilities and reduced fees in the winter (November 1 to February 28). Reservations in the summer can be made through Discover Camping.
